Readers of the News & Observer‘s op-ed page learned this week why Daren Bakst believes North Carolina state government should compensate victims of the state’s eugenics-inspired sterilization program. The Winston-Salem Journal is republishing Bakst’s column on that issue. The American Thinker published Bakst’s recent column on eminent domain abuse. The Right Wing News Watch website noted that column as well. The Mooresville Tribune picked up John Locke Foundation Health Policy Fellow Nicole Fisher‘s column on the potential benefits of instituting Medicaid block grants. A Charlotte Observer letter complaining about former Mayor Pat McCrory noted Charlotte’s high tax-burden ranking in Policy Analyst Michael Lowrey‘s annual By The Numbers report. The Lincoln Times-News reported that a local school board member cited JLF’s recent Beacon Hill Institute analysis showing the positive net job impact of House Republicans’ anticipated plan to cut state taxes. The Heritage Foundation’s latest “Insider Online” promoted both the Beacon Hill Institute analysis and the latest JLF report on Medicaid reform. The Heartland Institute’s Health Care News quoted Joseph Coletti in an article about health insurance exchanges.
