Maybe condemning 16,000 county residences to substandard cable service a few weeks before they go to the polls to vote for county commissioners struck someone as a bad idea. Maybe the reality of explaining to taxpayers in a couple years that, well, you see, we had to raise your property taxes because we bought this clunker of a cable system, and, well, turns out it needs millions of dollars in upgrades, and, well, you see…..
