I compared government to the rich kid at school in my column this morning subbing for John. A couple examples of rich kid behavior I’ve received do sound a lot like failed government programs:

  • One decided to see if he could shift into reverse while driving 65. He could, but the car died.
  • Another wanted to see how far he could go without an oil change. No report what the mileage was, but the car died.

Needless to say, both of our fearless car engineers with no understanding of internal combustion engines or transmissions received even nicer cars as replacements.
