Professor Richard Epstein’s latest essay analyzes Obama’s “pivot” to the economy (expecting people to have such short memories that they’ve forgotten all the other times  when he said he’d get busy fixing the economy). Epstein writes that Obama “seems utterly incapable of seeing the downside to any of his policy choices.”

Well, either he’s incapable of seeing them, or takes the view that the costs are worth it to accomplish his grand vision of remaking America. So what if many people are worse off — as long as they don’t blame his statism and can be convinced that whatever is wrong is not Obama’s fault, he’s just fine.
