Federal agents escorted Rielle Hunter, John Edwards? former mistress, into the federal courthouse in downtown Raleigh just minutes ago. A grand jury meeting this morning is believed to be considering alleged campaign finance malfeasance by Edwards.
Hunter arrived in a black SUV and carried her newborn baby with her into the courthouse. There is speculation that Edwards is the father.
Edwards is a former one-term senator from North Carolina and former Democratic vice-presidential candidate in 2004. He is the subject of a federal investigation for allegedly using campaign funds to pay Hunter.
