I was jumping around the channels last night trying to see how the traditionally liberal outlets were reacting to the big Republican wins in Virginia and New Jersey. When I switched to MSNBC late in the evening I realized I was watching a re-run of Keith Olbermann’s 8 p.m. show. Since I don’t usually watch MSNBC I just figured that’s what they did every night, sort of like the way Fox News replays O’Reilly at 11 p.m. But I was wrong:

MSNBC boasted that on election night they would present a “special live edition of Countdown” at 10:00 pm. But with bad news for the Democrats in Virginia and New Jersey, a funny thing happened on the way to the bonus Hour of Spin. Keith wasn’t there! After a live update (not from Olby but from Lawrence O’Donnell) A-Mess-NBC (“the place for politics”) proceeded to rerun the 8:00 pm showing.

Did Olbermann, not liking the results that were coming in to the MSNBC newsroom, just walk out in a fit of pique? That’s professionalism for you. And the left says Fox News is not a legitimate news outlet. As my daughter points out today, you never saw Brit Hume leave the set in a huff when things went south for Republicans or conservatives on election night.

I can’t wait for an explanation tonight. In the meantime, I am naming the MSNBC mouth-foamer my Worst Person in the World.
