Here’s an interesting lawsuit up in Rockingham County involving a school board member:

The board member, Ron Price, filed the suit in Rockingham County on April 20 against Richard and Debra Moore. Richard Moore is publisher of the Neely Chronicle and host of “Political Soup” on WGSR Star News.

Price is asking for a restraining order and more than $140,000 in damages and compensation from the Moores. Other defendants may be named later, the suit says.

Price’s suit says on Nov. 7, the Moores, along with several other unnamed defendants, “began a series of activities designed to vex, harass, intimidate, and annoy (Price), causing him great discomfort and embarrassment.”

On Nov. 7, Price was found with seven campaign signs for Democratic congressional incumbent Brad Miller in the truck of his car. According to police reports, a witness saw Price pull up the signs in and around Reidsville. Price was elected to the school board the next day.

The Moores, Price alleges, called Price “a thief, a person under indictment, (and) a crook” despite Price having “not, in fact been indicted, nor charged with crime of larceny, either at law or common law.”

Here’s Richard Moore’s response, via the Political Soup web site.

All this over a few Brad Miller campaign signs…….
