The Rocky Mount Telegram today runs with the expected follow-up story on Monday’s decision to not move forward with bringing North Carolina Wesleyan into the UNC system. The story says supporters are not giving up on the idea and plan to question some of the findings in the report.

That should be expected from the ad hoc committee that was formed to advocate the idea. There is a meeting next week between the committee, the study commission, UNC President Erskine Bowles, and legislators to discuss the findings. I suspect nothing more will come out of the meeting other than to offer supporters a chance to gripe about not getting what they wanted.
