For all the talk of lack of opportunity for women, data from the Pew Research Center shows that when it comes to educational attainment, it’s men who are being left behind.

Then add this:

And yet, the majority of Americans tell Pew it is very important for a man to be able to financially support his family — but not a woman:

Despite the increase in women’s financial contributions, roughly seven-in-ten adults (71%) say it is very important for a man to be able to support a family financially  in order to be a good husband or partner. Just 32% say it’s very important for a woman to do the same to be a good wife or partner.

Food for thought. Next time you hear that women are being left behind in America, you can respond with data about the plight of men.
