No great surprise here, but barring a late surge by Tim D’Annunzio, he and Harold Johnson will square off in a run-off for the GOP nod to take on Rep. Larry Kissell.
Further down the ballot, it looks like name ID carried the day for Jim Pendergraph and Dan Ramirez, by-far the top vote getters in the GOP at-large Mecklenburg County commission tilt. On the judicial front, it looks like voters are set to kick a slew of jurists off the bench, but we’ll have to wait for the final tally to be certain.
Meanwhile, it is not looking good for lightning rod Nick Mackey. A day after the state bar zapped his legal license Mackey is going down to defeat to Rodney Moore.
