All weekend I marveled at the incredible discounts being offered by all sorts of stores. Most online folks have been offering free shipping, gift cards with purchase, and other extras to entice shoppers. But a new poll from Rasmussen should give all the retailers a hint about a very simple way to appeal to consumers.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 72% of adults prefer “Merry Christmas,” while 22% like “Happy Holidays” instead.

Older Americans favor “Merry Christmas” more than younger adults.

Of course, that would require the retailers to be politically incorrect. Will they kick political correctness to the curb?
