Mitch channeled Louis from Casablanca. Our friends at Americans for Prosperity think Gov. Easley is channeling another character. I just think the idea of providing a tax credit to a group of people most injured by a tax increase is too transparently a net drag that it won’t go far. Then again, there are other transparently bad tax ideas floating around now, too.
Let’s all make an early New Year’s Resolution to rein in state spending so nobody has an excuse to raise taxes and the private economy can go about its business of creating capital, jobs, and economic growth.
