Members of the Flat Rock Village Council do not want to spend $1 million on a new road and parking for the Park at Flat Rock. Vice Mayor Nick Weedman and Councilman Don Farr don’t want to draw down the fund balance until the village is forced to raise taxes. They argue it would make more sense to invest first in amenities and provide a road to help people get to them later. Amenities would include restrooms, a dog park, a walking trail, and a buffer so the rich folks won’t have to look at the park. To boot, Farr and Weedman deemed current access adequate.
