At the State Board of Education meeting today, the Leadership for Innovation Committee (LFI) agenda included one discussion item ? the termination of the charter of PreEminent Charter School in Wake County.

Approximately 15 to 20 supporters of PreEminent were in the audience. These parents, teachers, and administrators took time out of their day to participate in a discussion about the school’s future. Shortly after the start of the meeting, the committee decided to move the discussion item to September?s agenda.

The LFI committee granted PreEminent a reprieve last year on the condition that the school would show significant improvement on state tests.
