The SBI is investigating Asheboro-based Regional Consolidated Services, the recipient of $13 million in federal stimulus funding for “weatherization initiatives.”

Regional Consolidated’s executive director claims she reported “irregularities” on the part of former employees who “were not properly managing the weatherization program.” She also makes the point that the company was not handed $13 million “that is sitting around somewhere.” Rather, the company has been reimbursed $6 million to weatherize 978 house.

I’m not in the weatherization business, but that sounds excessive to me. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.
