He had a driver’s license with his name on it. And a ballot with his name on it. But Gov. Mark Sanford still had to go back home and get his voter identification card Tuesday before he could vote.

The state’s first lady cast a ballot, but the Republican governor had to produce the right card before he finally voted — 90 minutes after first being turned away.
