Forsyth County Sheriff Bill Schatzman will be cited this morning after T-boning a citizen at Winston-Salem intersection earlier this week.

Schatzman’s spinning like he contacted Police Chief Scott Cunningham and requested that he be issued a ticket. But one can’t ignore the fact that both Mayor Allen Joines and City Manager Lee Garrity got involved after they heard about from who knows how many citizens.

Cunningham “told Joines that it was common for citations not to be issued in accidents such as the one involving the sheriff.” Does that mean accidents where one vehicle runs a stop a stop and hits another vehicle, or does than accidents where a law enforcement official runs a stop sign and hits another vehicle?
