We all know how school choice is a controversial issue, and the education establishment vehemently despises any form of this type of freedom.  Today in the London Daily Telegraph, Roger Mackett of University College in London makes a link from School Choice to obesity! Amazing the logic, what a “spin” this makes! I guess he has not taken the time to see what happens in a county like America with little choice – our country turns out students fat and ignorant. Here is what he says:

“What worries me at the moment are the unintended effects of this ‘choice’ agenda. The Government is keen to give parents choice over which school their children attend. So lots of people are no longer sending their children to local schools. That has led to more and more children going by car instead of walking and we know that lower levels of physical activity can lead to obesity.”

Does anyone want to consider why the parents choose schools other than their local government option?
