The N&R reports that Greensboro police detective Scott “Scooter” Sanders has been acquitted of illegally accessing a government computer.

In addition, “Deputy Attorney General Jim Coman said he will dismiss the remaining charges against Sanders and Sgt. William ‘Tom’ Fox, who had been charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice.”

Update: WFMY reports that City Council member Mary Rakestraw has called for Mitchell Johnson’s resignation; Spagnola reports that Lorraine Ahearn, the N&R’s lead reporter on the David Wray controversy, “looked upset as she left the courtroom following the Sanders verdict.” I realize the trial’s open to the public, but I can’t help but wonder what she was doing there, aside from gathering material for a column. I’d be anxious to read such a column, if it’s written, that is.
