Hey, good for the Westridge neighborhood. Residents didn’t want a townhouse development, so they took their case to the city, where the planning staff recommended the project be turned down. Proof that the system works, at least some of the time.

But as I read this morning’s ‘score one for the neighborhood’ article in today’s N&R, I couldn’t help but think that the Westridge area, with its large lots on the outer edge of the city, is the very definition of —gasp—urban sprawl. And everyone knows urban sprawl is bad for the environment.
