Thursday’s Greensboro News & Record published a story that included quotes from Jon Sanders and, in fact, was inspired by his “Course of the Month” feature in which he showcases courses of questionable rigor or value offered by North Carolina colleges and universities. The story covered several programs, including the new doctorate in leadership studies at NC A&T, which the director said isn’t about knowing what to do, but is “about knowing that when you’ve done it, you can look back and reflect that it was the right thing to do.” Meantime, Thursday’s Raleigh News & Observer carried a commentary by Shannon Blosser about needed reforms to the UNC Board of Governors—a group many North Carolinians know little or nothing about. The problem would improve, Blosser wrote, if several specific actions were taken.
