So far, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius — ObamaCare’s biggest fan, next to President Obama — will be a no-show at Wednesday’s House Commerce Committee hearing. Sebelius is so busy getting ready for a party on Tuesday night that she can’t possibly take time out to explains to the American people why ObamaCare is the debacle it was predicted to be.

Despite this ridiculous excuse, ObamaCare’s defenders are happy to provide cover.

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) predicted Sebelius would eventually testify.

“Ultimately, Secretary Sebelius will testify before Congress,” he said, also appearing on “Fox News Sunday.” “You know that. I don’t know the circumstances behind this, last-minute, let’s do it in a few days.”

The House Commerce Committee is holding the hearing Wednesday. On Tuesday night, Sebelius is scheduled to attend an event at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston. The gala is part of a mental health conference organized by former Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.).
