Fair enough, apply the same standard used on adults when determing whether or not to handcuff kids in court. But I’m missing the logic here:
Several mental health experts are cited in the motion as finding that shackling damages the self-esteem of children and causes some to act out with negative behavior.
I’d say kids appearing court, handcuffed or not, either already have self-esteem issues or desperately need self-esteem issues.
