Senator Bunning defended his blockage of a $10 billion spending package in USA Today here. Bunning wanted the Senate to live up to its promise to pay for all new spending (PayGo). Both parties and the media blasted his one man stand. He got quite a few comments from readers including this one from NC Mike. (I would like to take credit for this response, but I cannot.)
[Reply by NC Mike} “What is truly amazing and disheartening, is that Senator Bunning needs to write an Op Ed piece in order for his position to be presented to the public. Neither NPR, CNN, nor countless news reports on television or the internet, included the word “PAYGO”. Instead, the story was that this evil, crackpot, out of control rogue Senator was wreaking death, destruction, and worse upon thousands and thousands of innocent workers. The sychophant, complicit, lap dog media has NO interest whatsoever in reporting the truth. It simply regurgitates the Democrat party line and tactic of distraction, distortion, and character assassination. The day will not arrive soon enough, that each and every one of these supposed organs of “truth” will be out of business because the public has tired of their incessant censorship, propagandizing, and outright LYING.”
