Wake Co. has reversed its “comprehensive-ed” approach to sex ed (which was spoofed on a CJ “Back Page”).

The debate in general provides an instructive look at the problems with one-size-fits-all government policy. Even now there is much confusion ? the article says it’s unclear whether teachers are to discuss abstinence whenever the topic of sex arises (aside: how often is that?) and whether, since the policy applies to all grades, the policy may result in “kindergartners being taught about contraceptives.”

Also, I’d like to thank activist and community sage Ian Palmquist for exposing what’s really behind the change: “The far right is against students learning about diversity in our county.”

Gee, sorry we can’t teach kindergartners about the rainbow of anal sex, jester.
