The Wake Education Partnership backs the Wake County School District’s busing efforts.

According to the N&O, “the report is the first step in a campaign to generate support for the diversity policy.” (Calling it a mere “diversity policy” is a nice touch.) Perhaps a better first step would have been to show that the kids who are bussed to achieve “socioeconomic balance” actually benefit from the “diversity policy.” Pointing to the performance of entire schools or studies of other districts is simply not good enough.
