U.S. Rep. Heath Schuler, Democratic congressman from North Carolina’s 11th District, has come out for Hillary Clinton only two days after she was drubbed in his state by Barack Obama.
Shuler’s reasoning shows he embraces strongly the representative over the delegate role in Congress:
In endorsing Clinton, Shuler was hewing to the views of those who sent him to Washington. Although Clinton lost North Carolina to Obama by 14 percentage point, the results in Shuler’s district were almost exactly the reverse: She won it by 13 points.
Then again, he could just be doing political arithmetic.
