Defeated Democratic candidate for US Senate Vic Rawl thinks the machines are out to get him. And possibly kill Sarah Connor.
The voting machines — hard and/or software — favored Alvin Greene, you see. This is a claim Rawl is manufacturing without a shred of evidence. And it is impossible to disprove. You’d have to examine every single tabulation by every single voting machine to absolutely rule it out. Given that cannot be done Rawl is basically calling for the state party to throw out the results based on the fact that Greene won. Overwhelmingly.
Already the state Election Commission is defending the process that produced the results against what can only be called wild, Palm Beach-style claims of faulty voting machines. Yet it is up to the state Democratic Party to decide how to proceed. A pre-emptive move to nix Greene ahead of state and federal investigations into his candidacy does not seem like a very smart move.
But this is South Carolina we are talking about.
