This past week in Jackson County school board members were busy
drafting policy that would make tobacco usage illegal at all times on
school premises, according to this article in the Sylva Herald members
of the board want to eliminate usage of the Golden Leaf at all times
even after hours. What state is this again? Also this past
week one of the elementary schools in Jackson County had some students
with some marijuana. Is it just me or shouldn’t the school board
start with the illegal drugs first? I know tobacco usage isn’t
the healthiest habit, but it just seems that the Board has the
priorities in reverse.
