Overt racial and gender-based appeals in the Democrat primary are the stuff Saturday Night Live spoofs are made of. In this one, Sen. Hillary Clinton makes her appeal to superdelegates; it includes the following quotation:
In fact, once Sen. Obama is out of the picture, I look forward to playing the race card myself — as in, Anyone who doesn’t vote more me is both a sexist and a racist.
I guess things aren’t truly ever beyond parody.
