For the past few weeks, as gas prices have gone from the $3.50 a gallon range to $2.09 (and even below $2 in some places), there has been not a peep in the media about the falling prices. But this morning, as I listened to the radio (sorry, but didn’t catch the wire service source) I heard the headline, “Gas prices increasing!” The story said the average was now $2.19, having gone up 3 cents in the past week. No mention of the fact that $2.19 is actually lower than pre-Katrina gas prices. Now that prices have bottomed out, look for many screaming headlines about high gas prices.
