Among other things, this case is a major separation-of-powers matter. The courts have spurned the legislature. For the governor to go before the same legally blind judge with cap in hand begging for the court’s blessing to save this woman’s life, rather than asserting his executive authority last night to save her, was rock-stupid. Just one more perplexing move in this perplexing situation.
