My daughter just started a new job with Salem Communications. Her initial blog post in that job has just been posted on Hugh Hewitt’s blog site, her temporary blog home.

But the real reason I wanted to blog about this was a joke she told, which had me LOL’ing, as they say. Explaining the difference between her out-of-college job as a sports and feature writer in Rockingham, NC, and blogging about government and politics in Washington, she writes:

Some folks ask me what the transition was like from NASCAR reporter to political reporter. It’s easy. In one, you try to explain to your readers the significance of grown-ups getting paid exorbitant amounts of money to go around in circles indefinitely, always turning left. In the other, you get to interview racecar drivers.
