If you haven’t already figured that out. JLF lead man John Hood’s been all over it at sister blog Squall Lines, noting you don’t have to believe rumors about Soles and his young clients to “recognize that there is something deeply wrong here.”

If you’re catching up, the N&O has a good primer with this loaded statement from former client Frog Strickland, whose house (strangely enough) burned down last month:

Strickland told WWAY-TV in Wilmington that Soles paid for the small house and provided other support.

“This whole town is jealous of how I got that house, how I got my car, how I get money and all,” Strickland told the station, “and everybody just can’t stand it.”

OK, maybe the whole town’s envy existed only in Frog’s own head, he sounds like he’s got some isues — but you do have to wonder just how he got his house, car and his money. Again —molestation charges aside — there’s something deeply wrong going on here.
