So is Mecklenburg County commissioner Dan Bishop right? Is Uptown baseball a fait accompli?
“It is a done deal. You have the entire downtown business community here to run this thing through,” said Republican commissioner Dan Bishop. “You’re bringing an entirely complicated proposal where you’re talking about subsidizing a private sports entertainment business to the tune of $35 million at least.”
That includes direct infrastructure improvements to the site of around $8 million.
Is this really a top priority for the county right now? Or just something the Uptown crowd wants really, really badly? There is a difference you know.
