Rep Mitch Gillespie (R-McDowell) argues that the bill is very controversial and asks if it can be delayed. Speaker says no.

Michaux wants to send it to Appropriations. Says there is potential cost to state of $24 million to $500 million. Group confers around Speaker’s podium. Micheaux withdraws his motion.

Vote on motion not to concur is 100-10. A conference committee will be appointed to work out the differences in the bill.

In the meantime, the House recesses so committees can meet. Public Utilities will meet now (not Monday at 5 as previously announced) to continue discussion of SB 967, Yadkin River Trust.
