Here we go again.

Of course the SEC wants to come up with restrictions on what both reporters and fans can live-blog and Tweet during the $3b. worth of games CBS and ESPN just acquired. Doesn’t mean it’ll work, but they have to try.

In the meantime, they — and other content owners — will set about trying to monetize Tweets and Twitter. I bet that sooner or later you’ll see a Twitter Premium that will carry a subscription fee or ads or both. In change, users will get access to “exclusive” Twitter feeds — like that of the SEC, produced by the SEC.
