There’s a small, but growing echo announcing the arrival of Terry Stoops to the educational scene.  As the ears turned towards the future of education in North Carolina hear the call, they’re extending invitations to our coveted education specialist.  Following a county commissioners’ meeting last week, Terry was selected, and accepted, a position on a new advisory committee on school construction. Envy must have seeped in, as Union County seized Terry’s services as a member of a focus group that will offer recommendations to the superintendent of Union County Public Schools in the area of school facilities. In his spare time, Terry was a panelist at the 2006 Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Seminar, held at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday June 18, 2006 at N.C. State.  He discussed disabled access to education. The North Carolina HOBY seminar involved 200 high school sophomores from across the state of North Carolina, chosen by their high schools for their leadership potential. And, via a phone conference, Terry was a guest speaker for Professor Eric Houck’s “Data analysis for policymakers” class at Vanderbilt University. Then for a bit of digital enlightenment, Terry entertained viewers of News14 Carolina on school construction solutions.  Meanwhile, Lindalyn Kakadelis spoke about the Alliance and School choice to the Wilmington Civitan Club, and was a keynote speaker for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, a charter school in Rutherford.
