The Center for Local Innovation’s annual By The Numbers report continues to attract attention. The Hickory Daily Record and McDowell News relayed the report’s findings, and the Durham Herald-Sun interviewed John Locke Foundation Policy Analyst Michael Lowrey about the process he uses to formulate By The Numbers. WHKP Radio highlighted the study by featuring a retort from Hendersonville’s city manager, though follow-up work from Joseph Coletti helped clarify that the city manager objected to media interpretation of the report, not the report itself. The Carolina Politics Online blog also highlighted By The Numbers within the past week (along with a John Hood column reacting to the proposed smoking ban making its way through the General Assembly).
