Really nothing to add on this take down of the AP by Deadspin on the Brian Cushing affair. In a nutshell, the NFL’s Official Press is hacked off that Cushing made them look foolish for testing positive for steroids after he won their defensive Rookie of the Year award.
This would be the same Brian Cushing who for years has been the subject of questioning before-and-after pics on the Internet — but oddly ignored by AP addled “respectable” publications.
I guess the AP will be calling on Julius Peppers to give up his 2002 rook award — won despite a four game suspension for banned substance use — any day now.
