Partisans on all sides toss around a lot of numbers connected to North Carolina’s state budget debate. Some of those numbers are more accurate than others, and some are subject to misuse.

Joseph Coletti discussed the importance of highlighting accurate, dependable information about the budget during a presentation today to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society. In the video clip below, Coletti explains how a different interpretation of the size of the 2011-12 state budget shortfall can lead to different conclusions about the steps Gov. Beverly Perdue has proposed to fill that budget hole.
