Southern Alamance social studies teacher Sean Quinn responds (unposted) to the N&R’s big Sunday piece on ousted Northern Guilford High School basketball coach Stan Kowalewski:
To compare Stan to Father Flanagan is of all things is ridiculous. Father Flanagan “saved” young men from sure incarceration or death; Stan coaches basketball.
….Enough is enough. I don’t want to hear anymore about how successful Stan is. After all, Coach Paterno once said, “Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won’t taste good.
While everyone else in the Northern Guilford investigation has clammed up, Kowalewski’s hunger for the spotlight indicates that he’s got nothing to hide. Then again, maybe he just doesn’t get it. Look at Blago —- he’s out there doing Second City.
