These were the top-of-mind concerns of parents who attended events this week featuring Lindalyn Kakadelis. First stop was the Salisbury Optimist Club and a discussion of charters and school choice. Then it was on to a crowd of 400+ in Huntersville – a group frustrated with the Charlotte/Mecklenburg system. Kakadelis addressed empowerment through choice, teacher quality, funding, and student achievement. Meanwhile, the Goldsboro News-Argus editorialized about the need for high testing standards by using quotes from Kakadelis that had been reported in an Associated Press story.
