For their October meeting, the State Board of Education will be hitting the Outer Banks, because, um, they care about the quality of education being offered there.

On Tuesday, they will have dinner (courtesy of taxpayers) at Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe where they won’t find frozen, imported or farm-raised seafood of any kind. They also won’t find frozen meats, canned vegetables stored in chemical preservatives or mass produced desserts. They will find that every table has a view of the water, served by friendly folks, heaped with good cooking.
