You can probably imagine what jumped out at me when reading the State Employees Association of North Carolina’s recommendations for closing the $2-$3 billion budget gap (emphasis mine):

Abolishing the Golden LEAF Foundation, which receives half of North Carolina’s share of the national tobacco settlement, at a savings of $570 million.

It’s always good to see it’s not just right-wing whack jobs making such radical recommendations, although Civitas is indeed skeptical of some of SEANC’s other suggestions.
