The two top vote-getters in yesterday’s City Council primary, incumbents Diane Catotti a Eugene Brown, were mostly absent from campaign events in recent weeks:

Both incumbents missed time from the campaign in the weeks before the primary. Catotti was sidelined when her daughter broke a leg in an accident at school, and Brown had to undergo emergency eye surgery. The result was that they missed most of the candidate forums that led up to Tuesday’s vote.

The right PAC endorsements have always meant more than actual campaigning in Durham.
