The inimitable Mark Steyn points out
that, for all the initial criticism she got, Ann Coulter did the country a
service by exposing the left’s ploy of using “unassailable”
spokespersons, especially the “Jersey Girls“:
So two paragraphs in Ann Coulter’s book have
succeeded in repositioning these ladies: they may still be effective
Democrat hackettes, but I think TV shows will have a harder time
passing them off as non-partisan representatives of the 9/11 dead. So, on balance, hooray for Miss Coulter.
Even some columnists from Jersey have let go with a salvo now that Coulter has damaged the Jersey Girls’ force field:
Coulter has done a very good job of documenting her case. If some Jersey Girls get a public spanking in the process, so be it.
