I’ve never been there but Kansas City sounds like the kinda place NASCAR honchos would love for a Hall of Fame. The Sprint/Nextel nexus will weigh heavily on NASCAR officials keen to keep its top sponsor happy. Plus local government has demonstrated a willingness to spend out the ying-yang for attractions.

And I continue to believe that Charlotte’s high airfares will lead NASCAR to think that money that could be spent on its stuff will instead go to airlines.

So I think it is Kansas City’s deal to lose. At least I hope so for the sake of Charlotte taxpayers.
