No superintendent yet selected by the CMS board. No choice likely any time soon. Even longer before that choice is made “public.”
The $1 billion CMS budget did pass on a 5-4 vote, so nothing new there — another 10 percent budget increase from local government. Revenues may grow by about 6 percent a year, but by the gods we must have the double-digit spending hike no matter what.
Go ahead and use the down time to study the poll on why Mecklenburg voters turned down the last school bond. We may be here for awhile.
