In his column today, Thomas Sowell writes about the embarrassing details of the so-called economic stimulus spendathon.

The fact that so many politicians are champing at the bit to have the government spend roughly a trillion dollars to “stimulate” the economy (as if it were a single entity) shows either that they don’t mind taking advantage of the general ignorance of economics among the public or that they themselves labor under such ignorance. It’s probably some of each.
